YOUTH MINISTRY
Welcome to St John's Youth Ministry!

“Rooted in Christ. Growing Together.”
St. John’s Youth Ministry is a group of young men and young women in grades 5-12 who desire to have fun and fellowship in the name of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Any students in grades 5-12 who are members of St. John’s Lutheran Church are encouraged to get involved and participate in St. John’s Youth Ministry. Each group meets monthly to study God’s Word and gather for activities and “life together” as a family of Christ.
St. John’s Youth Ministry is broken down into 3 groups:
Toddler - 4th Grade
Grades 5-8
Grades 9-12
Grades 5-8 are represented by the Student Council students at St. John’s Lutheran School and their group is named St. John’s “Rooted In Faith” Youth Ministry. Our high school Youth Ministry group is named “Catalyst” and includes students in grades 9-12.

Jesus loves the little children and so does St. John’s. We offer a structured, but fun, Bible-centered class that children enjoy very much.
Bible Believers is offered during the school year to children age 3 through 6th grade on Sunday mornings
from 9:30-10:15 a.m. and coincides with an Adult Bible Class following the same lessons.
Our Sunday School curriculum is kid-friendly and creative, offering:
-
Christ-centered lessons they can identify with and apply to their lives.
-
Age-appropriate artwork to help them grasp Biblical concepts.
-
A unified, Biblical theme for all age levels.
-
A wide variety of activities, games, music, and videos that support Bible lessons and encourage students in their personal relationship with Christ.
At every level, this interactive Sunday School program helps students make a solid connection between God’s word and everyday life.
Children are asked to register for classes by contacting the church office.
Each summer we also offer VBS! Click the picture to go to our page!
GRADES 5-8
Rooted 5–8 is a branch of our Rooted Youth Ministry designed specifically for students in grades 5 through 8. This group provides a safe, fun, and Christ-centered environment where students can begin to take ownership of their faith and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
The purpose of Rooted 5–8 is to lead our children into a walk of faith that points them to Christ as their Savior and Lord. Through Bible study, fellowship, service opportunities, and engaging activities, students learn what it means to be disciples of Christ who live out their faith in everyday life.
Rooted 5–8 embodies our ministry mission of Reaching, Teaching, and Sharing the Gospel. Together, we seek to reach young hearts with the Good News of Jesus, teach them the truths of God’s Word, and equip them to share His love and light with others in their families, classrooms, and community."

GRADES 9-12
Rooted 9–12 is a branch of our Rooted Youth Ministry designed specifically for high school students in grades 9–12. This ministry provides a safe, informal space for teens to meet once a month, connect with Christian peers, and be reminded that their identity is firmly rooted in Christ.
High school can bring unique pressures and challenges: navigating friendships and relationships, managing stress from academics and extracurriculars, making decisions about the future, and facing cultural voices that often conflict with God’s truth. Rooted 9–12 addresses these real issues head-on by equipping students with the tools to respond with faith, wisdom, and courage. Through Christ-centered discussions, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship, students learn how to defend their beliefs, articulate their values, and live boldly for Jesus even when the world pushes back.
Our purpose is not only to nurture faith but to empower students to be leaders who shine Christ’s light in their schools, homes, workplaces, and communities. By embodying our mission of Reaching, Teaching, and Sharing the Gospel, Rooted 9–12 helps young men and women grow into confident Christian witnesses prepared to face life’s challenges while holding fast to the hope they have in Christ.
